New Publix Sale begins 4/28
Tonight is your last chance to get this week's deals. Tomorrow starts the new sale week.
You can go to Southernsavers.com and find the weekly ad. For me it wasn't the best ad, but I may find a few things to get.
If you do go anytime this week, do me a favor and post your savings on here. I'd love to see how much you saved!
Don't forget that this Sunday's paper (May 2) will have TONS of coupons!!!
Monday (May 3) go to Southernsavers.com and find the monthly Nabisco coupon. Print it out, it's good for the entire month.

Publix
Publix Coupon Policy:
Publix will take Manufacturer Coupons, Store Coupons (Publix coupons) and Competitor Coupons. You can use up to 3 coupons per item bought.
Ex.: Pizza $6
Man. Q for $1
makes is $5
add Publix Q for .50 cents
makes it $4.50
add Comp. Q for $1
makes it $3.50
Pizza originally $6 , you pay $3.50
This can really add up!
Publix will DOUBLE any manufacturer coupon up to 50 cents! Take advantage of this!
Here are the stores that Publix usually considers as competitors (this changes periodically):
Winn Dixie
Rite Aid
Walgreens
CVS
Babies R Us
If you are ever unsure of just what coupons Publix will accept, ASK!
Another type of coupon that Publix will take are the $/$purchase.
Ex.: Winn Dixie has coupons that read $10 off your next purchase of $50
Rite Aid has one that reads $5 off your next $25 purchase
Publix does not have to take these, they lose money off of these. Their policy on taking these changes from one week to the next. Be patient and grateful, even if they tell you they aren't taking them. The very next week they very well may take alot of them in one transaction!
Give any of this type of coupon to the cashier BEFORE any other coupon.
What this will do is:
Your total bill: $125
Give a Winn Dixie $10 off $50
Makes your total $115 (like getting free stuff!)
Give a Rite Aid $5 / $25
Makes your total $110 (they may not take more than one, but you never know)
Another GREAT thing about Publix is their Buy One get One deals!!!
This is how I save the most money each week! Most stores that have B1G1 sales require you to buy two items to qualify. Not Publix. If you buy just one sale item , it is HALF PRICE!!!
Ex: Ragu pasta sauce Reg. price $2
B1G1 price $1
Manufacture coupon for this item .50 cents (doubles to $1)
Makes this item FREE!

Where do I find coupons?
The newspaper is a great source of coupons. Get a Sunday paper every week, get several if you can. Subscribe to the Sunday paper of the largest town around you. In my case, I get a Birmingham paper every chance I can.
The first Sunday paper of each month will have the most coupons in it.
If you get a paper at a store, check for coupons first. Nothing worse than buying a paper, bringing it home and finding someone has taken out the coupons~
Another great coupon source is online. Of all the sites I've visited, southernsavers.com is my favorite. But there are several more that are great.
afullcup.com
couponmom.com
smartsource.com
(I welcome your comments on this one telling us your favorite coupon website!)
Coupons can be found in weekly store circulars as well as in many stores. Ex. Walgreens puts out a monthly booklet of coupons that can be found in the front of each store.
The southernsavers.com website is great about listing where you can sign up for special coupon books from Proctor & Gamble and other companies. These will come in the mail to you.
Remember: Coupons are $$$$!!!

Inspiration
Tonight on the news I saw a story on a lady who uses coupons. This is the type of story that inspired me last summer to find out more about this coupon stuff. In tonight's story, her grocery purchase rang up to $167. She paid .47 cents!!!
I've never done quite that well, but I have saved over a thousand dollars since I began last summer!
The main place I coupon is Publix in Prattville. They are the best grocery store as far as coupons and customer service.

Welcome!
This is the best way I could think of to share info on coupons and answer the many questions I get daily!
As with most of you, I always assumed that cutting coupons was not really worth it. But then I met my Coupon Mentor, the awesome Latonya. She has been saving hundreds of dollars each week for over five years! I just had to know the secret, and once I did, I had to share it!
To start this blog out, I will give you an overview of where to find coupons and which stores are 'coupon friendly' in the Montgomery / Prattville Alabama area. As I come across good deals, I will post them right here!
So visit often, you never know what you will find!
