This week I saved about $150! Paid $50 for all my stuff.
Had to do it in 4 or 5 transactions, but I actually save more that way. Forgot to get my rain checks, but I usually forget to turn them in anyway.
Walgreens: Transfered my script back to Walgreens this week and used the $25 check they sent me for doing this. Gotta love free toilet paper, water, cereal!
Their June coupon book is now out, although the coupons aren't all that great this month.
Winn Dixie: The meal deal this week is Hamburger patties. Buy them for $13 and get FREE: Coke/buns/cheese/chips! Everything you need for your summer picnic.
If you can get Military Q's from the Commissary, they are considered competitor Q's at Publix. So they are valuable!!

Publix trip 5/18
Talked to the store manager last Tuesday. I had taken my mom to show her the game, and did well!
At checkout time I only recognized Maria as a cashier. She is more picky than before. The store mgr told me they only have
One rule, honor what the coupon says. So they told me only ONE $/$ per transaction. So I had to do 4 separate transactions.
I had her ring up $20 at a time. Gave her the $5/$20 Rite Aid coupon, then the other coupons.
Total savings $130. Spent $23!!!
What is frustrating is that a friend of mine had gone the day before and got a lot of groceries. Like a months worth.
She was able to use 20 of the Rite Aids in ONE transaction!! Great for her, but this shows how inconsistent they can be.
So be patient.

Publix Trip 5/5/10
Last night Latonya and I made a run to Publix. I found out that a little prep goes a long way!
I had made out a list that looked like this:
Ragu / $1.24 / buy 2 / total $2.48
Shells & Cheese / $1.09 / buy 4 / coupons / total $2.20
etc....
First time to try this and it worked great! I knew exactly which items I had coupons for and how many I needed to buy. That kept me from making too many impulse buys.
I predicted that I would spend $37. I actually spent $35!! Pretty close!
The cashier I got took both my Winn Dixie and Rite Aid coupons. I got lucky!
I had gathered my coupons from the paper, All You mag, online, Walgreens and Winn Dixie.

My receipt showed $115 in savings. My competitor coupons added up to $30. My total was $35.
There is a money maker this week if you have good Dove coupons. Dove deoderant is $1.24.
Also Nivea body wash is free if you have the $4 coupon out of the paper.
Carefree products are 99 cents / if you have the $1 off coupon they are FREE! (I got 2)
Capri Suns are 1.79 all month. There is a $1 coupon in the All You mag.
Latonya showed me a board at the front of the store that lists which products are on sale all month.
Dr Pepper 20 packs have peelies for $1 off. These should go on sale next week.

New Publix Sale begins 4/28
Tonight is your last chance to get this week's deals. Tomorrow starts the new sale week.
You can go to Southernsavers.com and find the weekly ad. For me it wasn't the best ad, but I may find a few things to get.

Publix will take Manufacturer Coupons, Store Coupons (Publix coupons) and Competitor Coupons. You can use up to 3 coupons per item bought.
Ex.: Pizza $6
Man. Q for $1
makes is $5
add Publix Q for .50 cents
makes it $4.50
add Comp. Q for $1
makes it $3.50
Pizza originally $6 , you pay $3.50
This can really add up!
Publix will DOUBLE any manufacturer coupon up to 50 cents! Take advantage of this!
Here are the stores that Publix usually considers as competitors (this changes periodically):
Winn Dixie
Rite Aid
Walgreens
CVS
Babies R Us
If you are ever unsure of just what coupons Publix will accept, ASK!
Another type of coupon that Publix will take are the $/$purchase.
Ex.: Winn Dixie has coupons that read $10 off your next purchase of $50
Rite Aid has one that reads $5 off your next $25 purchase
Publix does not have to take these, they lose money off of these. Their policy on taking these changes from one week to the next. Be patient and grateful, even if they tell you they aren't taking them. The very next week they very well may take alot of them in one transaction!
Give any of this type of coupon to the cashier BEFORE any other coupon.
What this will do is:
Your total bill: $125
Give a Winn Dixie $10 off $50
Makes your total $115 (like getting free stuff!)
Give a Rite Aid $5 / $25
Makes your total $110 (they may not take more than one, but you never know)
Another GREAT thing about Publix is their Buy One get One deals!!!
